Job description Merola Tile is a leading national tile distributor that proudly imports high quality, on-trend and emotionally inspiring tiles from around the world to suit a diverse flooring market. The NJ Division of Merola Tile employs approximately 130 people and distributes tile in the U.S. and Canada through The Home Depot, independently owned tile showrooms, and numerous e-commerce retailers under the Merola Tile, SomerTile, and Elite Tile brand names. Role and Responsibilities Lead daily meetings to discuss task delegation and goals Familiar with all responsibilities and skills of a Bubble associate Prioritize orders to ensure all orders ship by their required dates Create daily/weekly schedules to promote employee rotation and cross training Assures the quality and quantity of work done by frontline staff Manage and maintain proper inventory levels of packaging supplies, boxes, etc. Write and execute performance reviews Implement universal packaging standards Review new products to determine future packaging Assure employees are meeting company standards for accuracy, efficiency, and productivity Prepare and ship orders accurately by processing requests, pulling materials, packing boxes, and placing finished orders in staging/delivery area. Assist in organizing stock and maintain inventory by performing cycle counts. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, product locations, and workstations neat. Inspect products for any defects or damages in accordance with standards of quality, weight specifications, and presentation. Responsible for managing pickups and loading our various carriers (UPS, Fedex, Expedited, etc) Problem solve and troubleshoot any WMS issues Coach and train employees in all phases of the Bubble Department Assist other departments in achieving company wide goals Run daily EOD reports to recap productivity Ownership and accountability of your own work and employees within the department Displays positive and enthusiastic attitude and contributes to company culture and environment Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize department or company procedures Assist in Interviewing, Hiring and Training new employees Perform other assigned duties as necessary and required. Skills & Abilities Ability to read and write in English Ability to perform basic math functions (adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals) Basic computer knowledge Strong comprehension of internal systems – WMS, Brother, Epsom Ability to work in a fast paced environment Warehouse leadership - preferred Physical Demands Ability to push/pull/lift up to 75 lbs. several times during the shift. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to sit, stand, reach, bend, and twist without restrictions. Frequently work in environment with extreme temperatures. Our warehouse is not climate-controlled. This includes sometimes being exposed to the outdoor environment.
